The Edina Virtual Pathway is a fully online program connected to and staffed by Edina teachers, but is a separate program than our in-person schools. Enrolling in the program is a full year commitment in most cases.

Yes, according to Minnesota State Statute you need to maintain residence in the state of Minnesota. Extended stays out of the state of Minnesota greater than 21 days could impact enrollment.

Course offerings are determined by enrollment and interest. Any student that enrolls in the Virtual Pathway will have access to the courses required to graduate with an Edina diploma. The specific types of electives and choices available will rely on student enrollment and staff availability. Browse Online Courses. 

Edina Virtual Pathway classes are asynchronous. There are not scheduled, live, classes. Students complete their work each day on their own schedule. Courses are not self-paced, however; assignments are due at the end of each week.

Edina Virtual Pathway courses are aligned with their in-person counterparts. EVP courses are designed and taught by Edina teachers. While some lessons, and the way they are taught, may differ, the learning standards covered are the same.

Students in the Virtual Pathway will have opportunities to join or create student clubs that are unique to an online environment. In addition, they are eligible to participate in our face-to-face student activities. Read this Athletics and Activities FAQ for additional information.

Students with special needs and requirements will be met on an individual basis to determine the best options for continued learning.

In many cases, digital alternatives that meet the same learning standards are provided. In other instances, physical materials are provided to students to use at home.

Families requesting enrollment from outside the attendance area of Edina Public Schools should complete the open enrollment process and select Edina Virtual Academy. For those families currently in our district, you will need to complete an intra-district transfer request. All forms are available at https://www.edinaschools.org/enrollment

Families are invited to provide their own computer for students to use in their studies, but may borrow a Chromebook from the district by request.
